2026 is here, and I am here to gloat.

This year, after two years of abysmally failing to fulfill my resolution to write more, I actually did it.

I actually achieved my New Year's resolution and wrote more.

Some days it was a paragraph. Some days, it was just opening the document and not running away. I didn't write every day, but I wrote.  Little by little.

You didn't see much of it... not here, at least.  Yes, I published a few more blogs, but let's be real, the publishing cadence of this page is still lacking.  Instead, I poured time into my book, turning an insane outline and an aspiration into a concrete, albeit crappy, first draft.

I also came into my own in my professional writing.  Thanks to the encouragement of my amazing boss, I leaned into my instincts more when writing for work. I put more "me" in what I was writing, stopped being so guarded, and let the words flow.  The result was beautiful blogs and social captions that I'm beyond proud of.

Here are a few, in case you're interested.

I share these, not just in the interest of shameless self-promotion, but to remind myself of what I can achieve with words when I’m not scared of them.

Looking back over my writer's block, my failed attempts to write more, and the many, many process pieces that have overtaken this blog over the past years, I'm looking forward to 2026 with one big lesson: I can't be afraid to write.

Here’s to another year of writing. And maybe rewriting that terrible book of mine...
